Patented tube technology enables dual use.
Up until now, the “either-or” principle has applied to open spaces. Either agricultural use or solar park. Photovoltaic tubes from TubeSolar enable a combination and therefore provide a double source of income. Electricity is harvested on top and agricultural products on the bottom. Area collectors cannot sufficiently offer efficient and profitable type of double cultivation. The great advantage of the patented tubes lies in the spaces between them.

The Technology
Proven technology innovatively applied
The idea of useing the tried-and-tested production technology of fluorescent tubes for the development of innovative photovoltaic tubes was already been born in 2012. A team of OSRAM experts pushed project continuously forward, creating an extremely robust glass tube sealed against environmental influences with an integrated flexible thin-film solar cell (CIGS). These PV tubes are integrated grid-like into a lightweight frame and installed as ready-to-connect TubeSolar PV modules in elevations above agricultural areas or are easily integrated into buildings. The innovative TubeSolar photovoltaic tube has considerable advantages over classic surface modules and is protected by patents worldwide.
About us
The future of agri photovoltaics
As a spin-off, TubeSolar AG has taken over part of the former fluorescent tube production together with its team of experts from OSRAM/LEDVANCE in Augsburg. They have been using this patented technology since 2019 to manufacture innovative photovoltaic thin-film tubes that are assembled into modules. The company’s headquarters are located on the former site of the OSRAM factory in Augsburg. With Reiner Egner and Jürgen Gallina as commercial and technical directors, TubeSolar AG has two experienced company managers. While Jürgen Gallina held technical management positions at OSRAM for more than 20 years, Reiner Egner has been an experienced senior expert in project financing and development for many years.
